Scoolu's Roster: Stanley Cups, Olympic Medals & Grammy Credits
At Scoolu we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn from genius, which is why we bring in the very best.
Scoolu's decorated roster of instructors are masters of their profession, and we’ve got the records to prove it.
17 Stanley Cup Wins
The Stanley Cup is often referred to as the hardest trophy to win in sports. It takes determination and grit for a player to have the chance to carry the cup over their head just once in their career.
One Stanley Cup win is proof of a player’s athleticism and hockey expertise, and Scoolu instructors; Theoren Fleury, Bryan Trottier, Colin Fraser, Tyler Kennedy and Grant Fuhr bring in a total of 17.
Trottier, a previous National Hockey League (NHL) player for the New York Islanders and Pittsburgh Penguins displayed utter excellence on and off the ice, winning a total of seven Stanley Cups as a player and a coach.
Fuhr, a former NHL goaltender and goaltending coach for the Arizona Coyotes was just short of the same achievement, winning a total of five Stanley Cups.
During more recent times, Fraser; a strong centre-man, played for multiple teams in the NHL, bringing home the cup with the Chicago Blackhawks in 2010, and the Los Angeles Kings in 2012 and 2014.
Kennedy also won a cup while playing for the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2009, scoring the game-winning goal in Game 6 of the Final.
Fleury, one of the smallest players of his time also contributes to Scoolu's grand total, winning the Stanley cup in 1989 with the Calgary Flames.
And that isn't where Fleury's athletic achievements end.
6 Olympic Gold Medals
Every athlete aims to represent their country at the top of the Olympic podium and Fleury, as well as Scoolu instructors, Hayley Wickenheiser and Mark McKoy know just how to get there. These instructors bring in a total of 6 Olympic Gold medals to Scoolu's roster.
Fleury and Wickenheiser both contributed to Canadian ice hockey teams, which claimed gold at the Olympic Winter Games.
The former Flames player joined Canada's mens team twice, earning gold at the 2002 Winter Games in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Wickenheiser is widely known as a trailblazer in Canadian women’s ice hockey, having represented Canada at the Winter Olympic Games five times, capturing four gold and one silver medal.
Unlike Fleury and Wickenheiser, McKoy made his mark at the Summer Olympic Games, winning the 110 Metre Hurdles in 1992. McKoy's speed and determination earned him Canada’s first Olympic gold medal in track since 1932.
38 Grammy Credits
But Scoolu's sport instructors aren't the only ones who are well decorated. Our music instructors, whose expertise varies in every aspect of music, rack in a total of thirty-eight Grammy credits.
Mixed engineer, Richard Furch leads the pack, having earned credits for six Grammy winning albums out of 22 nominated albums.
Rodney Alejandro isn't far behind Furch's achievements. Alejandro made a name for himself working in various aspects of music production and songwriting, earning a total of five Grammy credits.
Scoolu's other Grammy credited instructors include Steven Baughman, Mark Prentice, Dave Brainard, Chris Loocke, Billy Decker and Kenny Greenberg.
