Domenic Pittis
Pittis, who had a pro career spanning 19-years and over two continents, enters his fifth season as an Assistant Coach for the Stockton Heat in 2019-20, primarily dealing with Heat forwards, after previously serving the Calgary Flames as a Skills and Development Coach.
The Calgary, Alberta native played 86 NHL games with the Pittsburgh Penguins, Buffalo Sabres, Edmonton Oilers and Nasville Predators and is also a 309 game AHL alum, scoring 109 goals and 342 points. His best American Hockey League season came in 1998-99 while with the Rochester Americans when Pittis scored 38 goals and 104 points winning the John B. Sollenberger Trophy as the AHL’s leading scorer.
In 2004-05, Pittis went overseas to Switzerland where he went on to win two league championships, a Champions Hockey League Championship, and, at the international level, a Spengler Cup while representing Team Canada.
Pittis’ coach in Zurich, former Flames Head Coach Bob Hartley, brought him back to North America as a member of the Flames staff in 2013-14 and moved into an Assistant Coach position with the Heat in 2015-16.
Under his tutelage, Pittis has helped Markus Granlund, Derek Grant, Garnet Hathaway, Kenny Agostino, Freddie Hamilton, Hunter Shinkaruk, Emile Poirier, Drew Shore, Turner Elson, Linden Vey, Mark Jankowski, Andrew Mangiapane, Ryan Lomberg, Spencer Foo, Dillon Dube and Curtis Lazar move from the AHL to the Calgary Flames.
